Aloha!

Aloha!

We are back to reality. Maui is incredible and our vacation was a dream. We were packed with things to do like biking down the volcano Haleakala, dining, beaches, fireworks, spa treatments, golfing and a kayak turtle adventure. The bike ride was too cool even though we missed out starting from the very top which was too windy, cloudy and freezing. The picture above and below are both from the bike ride. Ted played golf while I checked out the turtles. I thought I would be a little scared being so far out in the ocean snorkeling, however, these turtles are so gorgeous and laid back you can't help but feel the same way. Good thing we never found out about the sharks in the area till later that evening! Next time we bring the kids!

I drove my mom to the airport this morning. It was so great to have her down and watch the kids. They all have an even more special bond. While we were in Maui Hera and Athena had a harder time with us gone than the baby and had me cracking up when they said I wouldn't be happy with all the junk food Grandma came home with. Hera even cleaned out the pantry so she could find everything easy. Their idea of junk food was pop tarts, fruit snacks, yogurts and cheeses. Not that, that is great but you would have thought the girls ate only cake and ice cream all week. Isi was an angel and I think she gained a couple pounds and grew up while we were gone. Besides climbing on chairs and having to sit on one like her big sisters, her newest words are Gramma, cheese (when she sees the camera), and the most hilarious is 'Oh, man'.
Finally I finished Isi's dress, not bad for no pattern huh?

From North to South

I am finally back on the planet earth to try and update you all a little on everything we have been up to lately. My excuse is I really wanted to post the dress I knit Isi, however, I have to adjust the buttons before I take a picture of her and I keep stalling because so many other things have my attention.
Since my last post we went all the way home to Terrace, BC to visit family and celebrate my Mom's 50th birthday. The picture is my mom in the sweater I made her.
The kids had a blast playing in all the snow, making snow families and forts. Of course their other big highlights were playing for hours in Papoo's arcade and celebrating Easter with family.
We stayed in Vancouver a night both going up and coming down and it was really great to catch up a little with best friends and family. I loved that I got to see Connie with her cute pregnant belly.
Upon getting home the Easter bunny had somehow found a way into our house. Too fun. My highlight was finding out Hera received straight A's on her report card just like her big sis! How did I get two such smart girls?

My mom came down a few days after we got back and is staying until the end of April. We went camping for a night at this amazing park called Joshua Tree National Park. For those of you interested, this is what a Joshua Tree looks like. You would never believe the hidden secrets the desert has to offer if you are willing to take a closer look. Nor would you believe how cold it gets especially with a little wind. You have no idea how happy I was our tent was still in one place after hiking because of the wind! Below is the kids at Skull Rock.

I'll be back in touch when we get back from Maui next week (without kids, whoo, hoo)! I can hardly wait!
